The Social Security Administration (SSA) announced in its September 14 edition of W-2 News that it has modernized its W-2/W-2c Online application with enhanced features.
W-2/W-2c Online is a free application available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, that allows employers to manually enter employee information and electronically file Forms W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, and Forms W-2c, Corrected Wage and Tax Statement, with the SSA. Employers can access W-2/W-2c Online through SSA’s Business Services Online.

SSA said the previous W-2/W-2c Online application will be decommissioned on September 19, 2026. Employers will have access to the previous application to submit any unsubmitted reports until September 18.
