The PayrollOrg Government Partner Award recognizes government leaders who have measurably engaged with payroll professionals by recognizing them as key stakeholders. The 2023 recipient is Realuz Bisa with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Her efforts to ensure that payroll professionals understand employment verification requirements has been exceptional.
Bisa is a management and program analyst in USCIS’s Verification Division, Account Compliance and Engagement Immigration Records and Identity Services Directorate, in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Los Angeles office.
She has presented at PayrollOrg conferences, partnered with PayrollOrg to provide webinars on the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, and E-Verify system, and answered payroll professionals’ many questions. In addition, Bisa has helped PayrollOrg’s Government Relations Task Force build a long-term relationship with the USCIS by keeping staff and members informed of COVID-19 and other temporary measures.
“Rea has earned her place as a PayrollOrg government partner,” said Alice Jacobsohn, Esq., PayrollOrg Director of Government Relations. “As an educator, she has clearly explained employment verification requirements and how payroll professionals and their employers can avoid mistakes. Her service has been invaluable over the past few years with COVID-19 temporary changes, regulatory relief provided because of natural disasters, and changes regarding refugee status.”
