'Payroll Pop Quiz' is Here!

You’ve probably noticed that the monthly Compliance TV video that highlights key points from the latest edition of Payroll Currently wasn’t in your inbox this time.

That’s because Compliance TV has been replaced by a new interactive feature called Payroll Pop Quiz, which is much like the Top PC Q&A that appeared in several PAYTECH-Digital issues in 2024 or the Fact or Cap videos that ran during National Payroll Week.

“The basic idea was born out of my observation of the popularity around the trivia game in Virtual Congress,” said Mark Coindreau, PayrollOrg’s Director of PR, Media, and Events Production Management.  “Our attendees have a great time with the game, and it gets a lot of participation.  I wanted to develop a video that could tap into the competitive spirit of payroll professionals and that could also better realize the potential of social media and The Payroll Community to have people share their results.”

This new feature is an interactive tool that shares four random questions from Payroll Currently and provides four multiple choice answers for each question. The users can test their payroll knowledge by selecting one of the four answers to each question.

PayrollOrg has been considering making updates to Compliance TV for a little over a year, so there wasn’t any thought to initially replace it, but to provide payroll professionals with a more competitive and interactive experience that provides a better use of social media, Mark said.

“PAYO members and customers interact the most with “fun” posts on social media, and with the games in Virtual Congress,” he said. “Payroll Pop Quiz intends to make keeping up with the latest payroll news fun and provide them an outlet to share their experience with their other payroll friends on The Payroll Community and through social media.”

The success of Payroll Pop Quiz will be measured by the number of members who watch the video and take the quiz, and the social media engagement that will hopefully drive others to the #payroll-popquiz hashtag.

The Payroll Pop Quiz will launch each month with Payroll Currently

“The debut issue should accompany the March edition with a still in the email announcing Payroll Currently and also on the bookshelf page where the issue of Payroll Currently articles is found,” he said.
