Through APA’s partnership, payroll professionals have influenced the development of forms and instructions, shared information on identity theft tax fraud, and disseminated information provided to us by the IRS.
The COVID-19 relief measures with employment tax requirements are complicated for both the IRS and payroll departments. Our IRS presenters will provide details on paid sick leave credits, employee retention credits, deferrals of deposits and payments of employer payroll taxes, and more. Deputy Commissioner Lough provides leadership to the four taxpayer-focused IRS operating divisions: Wage and Investment, Large Business and International, Small Business/Self Employed, and Tax Exempt and Government Entities. She also oversees the IRS’s Criminal Investigation Division, Office of Professional Responsibility,
Online Services, Return Preparer Office, and Whistleblower Office.
Deputy Associate Chief Counsel Cook leads five branches in the Exempt Organization and Employment Tax areas of the IRS’s Associate Chief Counsel’s Office, for which she supervises approximately 50 professionals.
