APA Leadership Changes for 2022

The American Payroll Association (APA) is announcing changes in leadership for 2022. Dee Byrd, CPP, has made the decision to step down as President-Elect. However, the APA Board of Directors is pleased to announce that it will retain Byrd’s engagement as the Vice President of Global Strategy. Bruce Phipps, CPP, will serve a second one-year term as APA President beginning in May 2022. Lois Fried, CPP, will continue to serve as Immediate Past President for another term as well.

The Vice President of Global Strategy is a new position that was created in 2020 to help guide APA and Global Payroll Management Institute (GPMI) as they expand their programs and endeavors internationally. In May 2022, Marcia Aamodt will complete the inaugural term of the Vice President of Global Strategy and Byrd will officially begin her term in office.

As the Program Manager—Venture Global for Elements Global Services, Byrd is excited about this new challenge to lead APA and GPMI’s global advancements. “This position aligns perfectly with my years of global payroll experience,” Byrd said. “I’m looking forward to helping advance APA and GPMI’s global strategies.”
