APA Expands GRTF Subcommittee to Cover State and Local Topics

Written by PayrollOrg Staff | Oct 10, 2018 2:00:00 PM

With many states considering wage and hour legislation, APA’s Government Relations Task Force (GRTF) Subcommittee on State and Local Taxes is expanding its coverage and changing its name to reflect its new focus. Its new name is State and Local Topics, maintaining the acronym SALT. The GRTF State and Local Topics Subcommittee will continue to discuss and take action when necessary on state and local tax proposals in addition to other state and local issues.

Many wage and hour issues impact human resources without impacting payroll management. However, when state and local proposals could cause a change in payroll management software, processes, procedures, or training, APA will consider taking action. Of critical importance is making sure that payroll software developers, service providers, and payroll departments have sufficient time to make the changes and fully test them before implementation.

The chairs of the GRTF SALT Subcommittee – Pete Isberg, Bruce Phipps, CPP, and R. Tommy Windsor, CPP – welcome new participants with an interest in wage and hour and other issues as well as tax considerations.
