ADP VP Discusses Future of Payroll Reporting Trends
Changes are happening industrywide as new legislative and regulatory developments, including the Affordable Care Act, tax reform, and changes to wage and tax reporting, tax withholding, W-2 reporting, and refund fraud measures start rolling in.
During his 8:00 a.m. workshop today, “Emerging Trends in Payroll Tax Administration,” Peter Isberg, Vice President of Government Relations at ADP, talked about what to expect in terms of payroll reporting trends, compliance, and enforcement.
Isberg covered the major legislative and regulatory trends affecting payroll and employment tax administration that will keep payroll professionals and software developers busy over the next few years.
“Payroll professionals will benefit by understanding the major forces driving change, and be better prepared to adapt current systems to coming changes from government mandates affecting payroll administration,” Isberg told Congress Today prior to the workshop.
He hopes Congress attendees will leave this workshop feeling better informed as to the issues that will drive major changes to their responsibilities over the coming five years.
“This includes specifics as to where and how those changes are beginning to play out, and what to expect in terms of impact,” he said. “There are several areas of sweeping change that will transform the responsibilities of payroll professionals, starting now.”
