New York’s Burdensome Paycard Regulations Remain in Effect

Written by Lia Coniglio, Esq. | Jul 23, 2020 2:00:00 PM

On June 23, the New York Court of Appeals (the highest court in the state) dismissed the appeal of a paycard vendor challenging the New York Department of Labor’s burdensome payroll card regulations [Reardon v. Global Cash Card, Inc., 2020 N.Y. LEXIS 1374 (N.Y., 6-23-20)].

The New York paycard regulations (12 NYCRR §192) remain in effect. Earlier this year, the appellate court ruled in favor of the New York labor agency.
