On June 1, a new online system for filing quarterly unemployment insurance (UI) tax reports and making UI tax payments will launch, according to the Florida Department of Revenue (DOR). In Florida, the DOR calls UI tax “reemployment tax.”
Beginning June 1, the following forms must be filed using the new system:
- Form RT-6, Florida Department of Revenue Employer’s Quarterly Report
- Form RT-8A, Correction to Employer’s Quarterly or Annual Domestic Report
- Form RT-7, Florida Department of Revenue Employer’s Reemployment Tax Annual Report for Employers of Domestic Employees Only
After June 1, the new system will be used to file amended or late reports for prior quarters. Second quarter forms, due in July, will be filed using the new system.
Save Old Forms
Employers are advised to download and save previously submitted tax returns and payment information for recordkeeping purposes. This information will not be transferred over into the new system.
Logging In
Employers that used the eFile and Pay application will continue to use the same login information for the new system – it will not change. The DOR encourages employers to access the existing user ID and password before June 1, because it will need to be manually entered into the new system.
Employers that used the direct filer/transmitter application will need to register as a Direct Filer/Transmitter User and obtain new login credentials prior to June 1. A link to the registration site will be available soon. These employers will not be able to log into the new system using existing credentials.
