Michigan has extended the electronic filing deadline for Forms W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, to February 7, 2019, because of a severe winter weather emergency. The original electronic filing deadline was January 31, 2019. The due date for the annual reconciliation return – Form 165, Annual Return for Sales, Use and Withholding Taxes – remains February 28, 2019 [Michigan Department of Treasury, Press Release, 2-4-19].
Two states (Iowa and Wisconsin) and Puerto Rico have also extended their electronic filing deadlines for Forms W-2 because of technical problems and severe weather.
