Meet a Payroll Executive, Learn Best Practices, See Benchmarking Results

Do you want to meet a payroll executive and see how she rose to the C-suite? Maybe you want to learn the groundbreaking results from the Deloitte Global Payroll Benchmarking Survey or find out from the American Payroll Association’s Prism Award recipients how they achieved best practices?

Then you’re in luck as there’s still time to view Payroll Benchmarking Trends—An On Demand Forum.

The online forum features a video presentation from Davida Lara, CPP, Executive Vice President of Payroll at Entertainment Partners, who shares her career journey and how she rose to the level of an executive in payroll.

Lara also received a DailyPay Trailblazer Award for leading her team’s successes.

Other Trailblazer recipients included:

  • Sarah Chasney, Pacific Bells, LLC

  • Brad Fields, CPP, Director of Payroll and Benefits, TLC management, Inc.

  • Christine Call, Director of Payroll at Flynn Restaurant Group

Chasney also represented her team in accepting an APA Prism Award and helped share, along with the other recipients, their expertise during a Q&A presentation with APA Director of Payroll Training Laurel Serra, CPP.

The other Prism Award recipients are:

  • Overall—Deedee Dalrymple, Director of Payroll, U.S. Xpress, Inc.

  • Management—Chasney, Pacific Bells, LLC

  • Technology—Crystal DeLorey, Senior Director of Payroll, Smithfield Foods, Inc.

  • Process—Rebecca Coker, CPP, SPHR, Senior Payroll Manager, Life Time Salons

During the forum, Brian Proctor and Susan Leal of Deloitte Consulting, LLP, present the results of their benchmarking survey, conducted in conjunction with the APA and the Global Payroll Management Institute (GPMI).

Key takeaways from the survey include:

  • Organizations understand the importance of having a global payroll strategy that includes sourcing (e.g., third-party payroll providers), an internal service delivery model regardless of their sourcing strategy, and robust technologies, including next-generation technologies such as robotic process automation (RPA).

  • Although many organizations still do not have complete visibility into their global payroll operations, they are recognizing the importance and making it a strategic priority.
