This year’s conference, sponsored by Sprintax, takes place October 20-23 at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront in Jacksonville, Florida. The curriculum will address topics such as innovative best practices, taxation of faculty, nonresident alien payroll taxation, employment eligibility, fringe benefits, and state and local paid sick leave requirements.

Exclusive Workshop Sessions

EIPC offers 25 workshops and four General Sessions for attendees to choose from. Workshops will focus on compliance and operational issues impacting payroll professionals working in both public and private colleges and universities.

“As a first-time attendee, I was extremely pleased with the depth of the presentations and the new knowledge I can take back to apply to my job,” said 2023 EIPC attendee Kristina Peterson, Payroll Manager for the University of Texas System. “Next [time], I hope to bring two of my payroll colleagues.”

Workshops include the following:

  • “Fundamentals of Payroll in Higher Education”
  • “Overpayments: What Do They Require?”
  • “Payroll Metrics: Driving Efficiency and Accuracy Through Data”
  • “Fringe Benefits, Part 1” and “… Part 2”
  • “How to Operationalize a New System”
Award-winning motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and author, Pegine, will be a keynote speaker at the event. Her presentation, “Be Powerful, Be You—Carry the Torch: Leading Yourself to Inspire Others” will be delivered during the Opening General Session and is sure to be thoughtprovoking and uplifting. There will also be roundtable discussions for users to discuss Banner System, PeopleSoft, and Workday hot topics.

“EIPC is an excellent conference,” said Lisa Steinbach, CPP, Payroll Coordinator at Knox College and a 2023 attendee. “Speakers and topics were great and there are great opportunities to connect with peers.”

Attendees can earn up to 18 RCHs, 1.8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), or 18 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits when attending EIPC.
