# FPCs, CPPs Take Advantage of Professional Development Lounge at Congress

At the 37th Annual Congress last month, new FPCs and CPPs took some time to visit the **[Professional Development Lounge](https://blogs.americanpayroll.org/congress-today/new-professional-development-lounge-offers-career-insight-headshots-more)**, where they got the opportunity to network with fellow payroll professionals who are certified.

 Payroll certification is a valuable, objective credential that verifies an individual’s specified level of knowledge, skills, and abilities in the payroll profession. The APA offers two levels of certification: Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
