State payroll compliance can be challenging when you have employees working in new states or you have difficult questions. Knowing where to go for information can help in these situations.
APA provides state agency directories on its website to help payroll professionals find the contact information they need to get their questions answered. The directories are now available in the Resource Library (located under the News & Resources heading on the APA home page). Select Web Links-State to access the following state directories:
- Child Support Enforcement Agencies
- Income Tax Withholding Agencies
- New Hire Reporting Agencies
- Unclaimed Property Agencies
- Unemployment Insurance Agencies
- Wage and Hour Agencies
Each directory provides the state agency name, address, phone number, fax number, email address, and website address (if available).
State directories were previously accessible on the APA website from the State Unemployment Wage Bases page. The information was moved to the Resource Library so that it can be easily found with other federal, state, and local links.
