ETAAC Presents 2025 Annual Report to Congress

On June 25, the Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee (ETAAC) held a public meeting and released its Annual Report to Congress. The report includes recommendations to improve electronic tax administration.

PayrollOrg has two members on ETAAC: Ronald Gilson, CPP, a PayrollOrg Ambassador, and Kristine Willson, CPP. Gilson and Willson are co-chairs of the Government Relations Task Force Electronic Payments Subcommittee.

ETAAC’s Recommendations

The annual report identifies five key themes and includes 14 recommendations ETAAC made to Congress and the IRS. Five of the recommendations are relevant to payroll.

For example, Gilson presented Recommendation 1 in which ETAAC recommends that Congress consider tax simplification when implementing tax policy goals for efficient tax administration and federal budgetary savings. Specifically, ETAAC recommends that Congress simplify changes as it considers the potential expiration of provisions made by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which may alter the Internal Revenue Code.
