PayrollOrg’s Educational Institutions Payroll Conference (EIPC) returns for its 38th year, bringing higher education payroll professionals together for focused learning, compliance updates, and peer networking tailored to those working in colleges and universities.
This year’s conference, sponsored by Sprintax, takes place October 18–21 at the Hyatt Regency Columbus in Columbus, Ohio. The program is designed to help higher education payroll professionals stay current on legislative and regulatory compliance updates while working through unique payroll challenges.
A cornerstone of EIPC is its robust educational program, which features dozens of workshops and expert-led sessions on practical issues higher education payroll teams face every day, including tax compliance, fringe benefits, workforce complexity, and cross-state regulations.
The four-day event will feature four general sessions and 10 workshop blocks, with individual sessions offering recertification credit hour (RCH) and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit opportunities. Programming begins Sunday, October 18, with registration and workshop sessions, followed by a cocktail reception and dinner, and continues through the Closing General Session on Wednesday, October 21.
The General Sessions and workshops also help payroll professionals expand their knowledge while maintaining certifications such as the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), reinforcing the conference’s value as both a learning opportunity and a career-advancement platform.

General Sessions include “Payroll Like a Boss,” by John Bernatovicz, Founder and President of Willory LLC, an opening session that will will help you reignite your passion for payroll; a Legislative Update Luncheon session with Adam Prinzo, Manager of Government Relations for PayrollOrg; a Sprintax-sponsored session on nonresident tax compliance; and “What is Required for Payroll Governance,” by Jim Medlock, President of PayrollOrg, for the closing session.
