EEOC Extends 2021 EEO-1 Data Collection to June 21

The deadline for employers to submit and certify their 2021 Employer Information (EEO-1) Component 1 report was May 17, 2022. However, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is giving employers that missed the original deadline of May 17 an automatic “failure to file” extension of June 21, 2022, to submit 2021 EEO-1 reports [EEOC, Announcements, 5-18-22].

The EEOC said it will not accept 2021 EEO-1 after June 21 and eligible employers that have not filed will be out of compliance.

Wait on Responses

Employers that have already submitted a request to the Filer Support Team and are awaiting a response should just wait. The EEOC said the Filer Support Team is in the process of addressing all requests and employers should only contact the Filer Support Team once regarding the same issue.
