PayrollOrg’s annual Payroll Leaders Conference (PLC) is back again to present next generation training to payroll professionals through four transformational certificate programs. The conference will be hosted at MEET Las Vegas, September 17-20.
The conference will also announce this year’s Prism Awards, which recognize payroll and shared services departments exhibiting best practices in management, processes, technology, and more.
Four Exclusive Certificate Programs
PLC’s exclusive certificate programs are ideal for U.S.-based and global payroll professionals who want to increase their leadership and management skills or aspire to be leaders within their organizations. Attendees can choose from one of the following four programs to improve their payroll education and training:
1. Foundations of Payroll Analytics: Data drives everything—including payroll. This certificate program emphasizes the importance for every payroll staff member, whether currently in a management role or aspires to be, is accountable for understanding and interpreting data. Presented by Erin “Iggy” Svoboda, CPP, Senior Solutions Consultant at UKG, attendees will learn how payroll data provides valuable insights, identify trends for process improvements, and measure real success in operations.
2. State and Local Payroll Certificate Program: Staying compliant is undeniably essential. Learn from Karen Ward, CPP, Director of Payroll Training at PayrollOrg, about the procedures and legal hurdles encountered when ensuring state and local income tax compliance. Attendees will also cover key topics such as regulations on paying employees, state wage and hour issues, state income tax (SIT) withholding, and more.
3. Strategic Leadership Certificate Program: Sharpen your leadership skills with this certificate program and lead your organization to success. Steve Hodgson, CPP, CPTD, Director of Learning and Development at PayrollOrg, will coach attendees with the knowledge, resources, and skills necessary to face challenges, inspire their teams, and deliver remarkable results.
4. Global Payroll Management Certificate Program: Buckle up and get ready to take off on a journey into global payroll with this next-level certificate program. Nathan North, Director of Strategic Initiatives at PayrollOrg, will present the current challenges global payroll faces and how attendees can get started or improve their global payroll processes.
Attendees can earn up to 20 RCHs, 2.0 CEUs, or 24 CPE credits for these programs. No prerequisites or advance preparation is required.
“The real-world experiences shared, and the knowledge gained from PLC, is a priceless addition to my professional confidence and growth,” said prior attendee Lindsay Coughlan, CPP, Payroll Manager at FMC.
Keynote Speakers
The conference will kick off with the Opening General Session on September 18, with Keynote Speaker Courtney Anderson Broadhead, J.D., M.S., M.B.A., B.A., and her humorous presentation, “How Can I Please Others and Still RESPECT Myself in the Morning?”
For payroll pros who don’t like saying “no,” Anderson’s session will empower and entertain payroll leaders to please their peers while maintaining and increasing their self-respect. Her session will also explore the interpersonal skills needed to elevate the payroll professional’s self-esteem and confidence to do their jobs at their best.
To close out the conference, Jamie Phillips, CPP, Healthcare Account Executive at UKG, will provide key insights during the Closing General Session on September 19. Phillips’ presentation, “Strategic Payroll: Better Benchmarking to Drive Business Success,” will explore the KPIs all organizations should be tracking to create a more strategic payroll operation. Attendees will note how they can tie payroll performance to their organization’s goals and help drive success forward.
Best Practices Awards
PayrollOrg’s Strategic Payroll Leadership Task Force (SPLTF) will present the annual Prism Awards to innovative payroll and shared services departments of any size that have demonstrated improved business practices and overall best practices.
The Shared Services Prism Award is awarded for excellence in effective leadership in shared services, and Payroll Prism Awards are given in the following categories: Overall Best Practices, Management, Processes, and Technology.
