The California Civil Rights Department (CRD) is reminding employers that 2025 pay data reports are due May 13, 2026. The pay data reporting portal is open and templates for reporting year 2025 are available.
State law requires private employers with 100 or more employees and/or 100 or more workers hired through labor contractors to report pay, demographic, and other workforce data annually to the CRD.
New for this reporting year, pay data reports should include employees’ exemption status, employment type, and weeks worked during the reporting year. Information on the new reporting fields is included in the updated FAQ.
Any demographic information gathered by an employer or labor contractor must be collected and stored separately from an employee’s personnel records.
