In July, APA will present a two-part webinar—Payroll Compliance Update Amid COVID-19—to help payroll professionals learn more about adapting during the pandemic. The first part, which is a legislative and regulatory update, will be Wednesday, July 8, from 1:30-3:00 p.m. ET. The second part, on Friday, July 10, from 1:30-3:00 p.m. ET, will focus on new federal forms and changes.
Part 1 will discuss new laws and regulations affecting payroll and will focus on COVID-19 compliance issues. These new laws impacting payroll include the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
Part 2 will continue the discussion of employer tax credits and other relief provisions in the FFCRA and CARES Act. This session will cover the relation of new IRS Form 7200 to the revised Form 941 and how to file for the second quarter of 2020. It will also offer details about the revised instructions for Form 941, including how to complete Worksheet 1 (where the employer takes the credits).
