APA Offers Virtual Congress for Education, Networking

APA’s Virtual Congress and Expo will take place July 14-15. Workshops and general sessions also will be available on demand until September 13, 2021. Registration for Congress Xstream includes Virtual Congress.

This Year’s Lineup

This year’s Virtual Congress agenda offers: 12 educational workshops, two Thought Leadership sessions, two general sessions, and two keynote speakers; a full-service Expo Hall; a Networking Lounge; a Resource Center; and profile pages for participants.

Federal Workshops

Here are three of the educational workshops on federal issues that impact payroll:

• Understanding Federal Income Tax Withholding. This session will review the 2021 Form W-4, Employee’s Withholding Certificate, so you can understand how to properly calculate federal income tax withholding for your employees. Learn how to do calculations based on an existing form submitted prior to 2020, and how to calculate withholding using the current Form W-4.
• IRS/SSA Reconciliations: What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You. If your Forms 941 and W-2 are out of balance, your employees can get notices about their personal income tax returns before you hear about the impact to your company. Learn how to resolve notices, avoid penalties, and more.
• Fair Labor Standards Act: Wage and Hour Nightmares, Case Studies, and Legal Updates. Learn about the Fair Labor Standards Act and upcoming regulatory changes, identify the most common wage and hour violations by employers, and determine the appropriate classification of employees.
