# APA Launches Webpage Dedicated to On-Demand Pay and the Gig Economy

Interest in on-demand pay has spread from the gig economy to employers and employees in more traditional businesses, and allows employees to gain access to their wages before payday. This recent development raises questions and concerns for employers. To learn more, the APA has launched a new Compliance Hot Topic on its website, [**On-Demand Pay and the Gig Economy**](https://www.americanpayroll.org/compliance/compliance-overview/hot-topics/on-demand-pay-and-the-gig-economy).

The new Hot Topic provides information about on-demand pay and the gig economy, including an explanation of the types of on-demand pay programs (in-house and third-party vendor programs). There are also links to government and APA resources, and education links for more information.
