Fittingly enough, 2020’s Global Payroll Titan is 2021’s Global Vision Award recipient.

Sharon Tayfield, MCIPP, Director of Global Payroll Services and Global Outsourcing for BDO U.K. LLP, received the Global Payroll Management Institute (GPMI) award Wednesday during the Congress Xstream Awards Gtayfield-2eneral Session.

“Having been a member of GPMI since it was established six years ago, I can be testament that the benefits of the investment GPMI has made to provide education and provide opportunities for networking have been well founded,” Tayfield said in receiving the award. “During the past 12 months, those networks have provided support and encouragement and been a source of sharing experiences of how companies are attacking the numerous legislative changes that COVID-19 has thrown at us.”

Tayfield is an award-winning payroll industry expert with technical knowledge and experience in global compliance and legislation, particularly regarding Africa. Her career spans more than 25 years in outsourcing and services.

She has been involved in planning, implementation, team-building and problem solving, combined with customer service awareness, customer relationship management, and vendor management.

She gave special thanks to Dan Maddux, GPMI President and APA Executive Director, and Dan Dycus, CPP, Senior Director of Education Services for GPMI and APA, during her acceptance speech.

“I think it’s fair to say that this award is dedicated to every single global payroll professional for being the true heroes that you have been in making sure we continue to pay the world every single month,” Tayfield said.

Scott Wilson, CAE, PMP, Director of Strategic Initiatives for GPMI, lauded Tayfield's contributions.

"I’m so very excited to have Sharon as the GPMI Global Vision Award winner for 2021," he said. "Her experiences and knowledge of global payroll are amazing, and her desire to share that knowledge has made my work easier. Congratulations, Sharon, and thank you for your continued support!"
