Launched on its maiden voyage in 1936, the RMS Queen Mary was a British ocean liner that sailed the North Atlantic Ocean until it was retired, permanently moored, and converted into a Long Beach tourist attraction in 1967. It’s been host to many famous passengers on its past voyages, including British royalty and dignitaries the Queen Mother and Winston Churchill and celebrities Fred Astaire, Clark Gable, and Audrey Hepburn. Today, the Queen Mary is a Long Beach icon for fine dining, conventions, and weddings.
Nicknamed the “Grey Ghost,” the Queen Mary is also rumored to be a hotbed for paranormal activity. Take nighttime “Haunted Encounters” or “Paranormal Ship Walk” tours through the ship’s mysterious staterooms and take home your own ghost stories.
