Mohita Awasthee, CPP, Is This Year’s GPMI Global Payroll Titan

Mohita Awasthee, CPP, is this year’s recipient of the Global Payroll Titan Award, presented by the Global Payroll Management Institute (GPMI).

Awasthee is a Senior Manager of Payroll, APAC and Africa, at Amazon who has more than 18 years of payroll experience managing large, multinational payrolls across North America, the Asia-Pacific region (APAC), and Africa.

"My peers have been integral part of my success," Awasthee said. "It is an honor to be recipient of such a prestigious award. I’m extremely grateful towards everyone who voted for me for their trust and salute to all of this year’s nominees each of who have made incredible contribution to payroll community."

The Global Payroll Titan award program celebrates, empowers, and recognizes payroll professionals who are responsible for processing multicountry payrolls. A titan is a positive influence in the industry who demonstrates innovative thinking and above-and-beyond commitment to the profession.

This year, 15 eligible global payroll professionals were nominated by their peers, and 1,584 votes were cast for the People’s Choice portion of the award.

Awasthee also focuses on building talent and has sponsored more than 60 of her team members for industry-recognized certification, such as the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification. She has created standardized training and an on-the-job curriculum for her teams, which has resulted in streamlining their training and continuing education from 138 days to only 90 days.

"I see this award as platform, which will help me strengthen my commitment toward the dynamic global payroll industry and be the ambassador for payroll education," Awasthee said. "This will help me build talent and successful payroll leaders."
