One of PayrollOrg’s core missions is to provide representation for payroll professionals at the federal, state, and local levels. This is done primarily through PayrollOrg’s Government Relations Task Force (GRTF), through which members educate government and community leaders about the payroll industry and the best practices associated with paying America’s workers.

There are currently five active GRTF subcommittees:

  1. Child Support
  2. Electronic Payments
  3. Federal Issues
  4. Garnishments
  5. State and Local Topics

Key Objectives

The key objectives of the GRTF subcommittees include the following:

  • To promote payroll professionals as key stakeholders with government entities
  • To influence government decision-makers to develop laws, regulations, and systems that minimize payroll/employer burden
  • To provide an organized forum for PayrollOrg members to identify problems and potential solutions
  • To create an opportunity for professional growth and education through open discussion

 2023 Payroll Congress

During this 2023 Payroll Congress, government decision-makers and PayrollOrg government relations staff will be speaking at several workshop sessions. Readers are encouraged to attend these sessions.

 Joining the GRTF

PayrollOrg members are asked to attend a once a month, one-hour virtual subcommittee meeting where they are encouraged to offer topics and participate in open discussions. If interested, members can even assist in contacting government entities and preparing written responses.

If you are interested in joining a GRTF subcommittee, contact Alice Jacobsohn, Esq., PayrollOrg’s Director of Government Relations at ajacobsohn@payroll.org.
