Her Story, Her Time: Lois Fried, CPP, Is Ready for APA Presidency

Lois Fried, CPP, has officially taken her place as the new President of the APA—an organization she holds close to her heart.

“I want to give back to this wonderful organization, but also show others that they can have this, too,” Fried said. “You can lead this organization and fill that role, and you have the potential to do it. I hope I will leave that mark as I transition into my role as President.”

Her longtime friend and APA colleague Deborah Viers Traylor, CPP, herself a former APA President, said Lois possesses many attributes that will serve her well during her term.

“Lois is an excellent communicator,” said Traylor. “She is conscientious and possesses a take-charge attitude. She also has an open mind toward understanding the variety of needs of the payroll professional, which will benefit the organization as it strives to meet its goals and objectives.”

Over the years, Lois saw a line of top-notch payroll professionals take their turns as APA President and kept in mind that if the right time came, she would join their ranks.

“I have seen so many people go before me who have done excellent work, and their presidency has brought a new, positive energy to the APA,” she said. “I know that your time comes when your time comes, and I feel that my time is right now. There couldn’t be a better time to give of myself and to give my best to the APA.”
