PayrollOrg awarded education grant packages today to six grateful recipients during the 43rd Annual Payroll Congress.

Rebecca Urbanovsky, CPP, Payroll Analyst for Kiewit Corporation, located in La Vista, Nebraska, received PayrollOrg’s complete Payroll Education Grant Package, which includes registration for the 2025 Payroll Congress, registration for any or all PayrollOrg seminars for one year, and a complete online library of current PayrollOrg publications, plus PayTrain®.

Learning that she was the recipient of the complete PayrollOrg education grant still feels a bit surreal to Rebecca.

“I still have to pinch myself to make sure this isn’t a dream,” she said. “Being selected brings a mix of emotions. I'm incredibly honored and truly humbled. I never envisioned achieving something like this.”

Urbanovsky, who has been faithfully submitting her education grant application for five straight years, always hoped her application would be chosen but she never imagined that it would be for the grand prize.

“My enthusiasm must have been noticeable, as colleagues nearby commented on how excited I sounded,” she added.

Other PayrollOrg education grant recipients include the following:

  • Kathleen Cardinal, CPP, Controller at Las Colinas Pharmacy Compounding and Wellness in Irving, Texas, received the PayrollOrg Course/Conference Grant

Urbanovsky has worked for Kiewit for nearly 13 years, which has allowed her opportunities to work closely with six of the eight specialized payroll groups within the company that supports nearly 32,000 employees.

“I love the company I work for, and if I can play even a small role in our long-term success by helping ensure our processes run smoothly, that we stay compliant with ever-changing payroll laws and regulations, and we ensure our people are getting paid on time and accurately, then I’ll consider my career successful and deeply fulfilling,” she said.

Urbanovsky adds that she plans to use the resources from the education grant to build up her team members at Kiewit, and her fellow payroll peers at the Heartland Chapter of PayrollOrg, where she serves as the chapter’s secretary.

“We’re fortunate to have a dedicated board member leading a virtual CPP/FPC study group, and I believe these tools can help expand that program and extend its reach within our professional community,” she said.
