Global Payroll Reception Unites Industry Leaders at 43rd Annual Payroll Congress

PayrollOrg's Global Payroll Reception, sponsored by Deel, attracted a vibrant mix of global payroll vendors, executives, and professionals from Europe, India, Australia and Canada.
The Global Payroll Reception promotes valuable networking opportunities for global payroll professionals to connect, collaborate, and share strategic insights across borders.
“Payroll Congress is the number-one conference for payroll leaders in the U.S., so if there’s any conference we want to be a big part of, it’s this one,” said Chris Lee, who is Head of Sales, Americas for Deel.
From navigating compliance in multiple jurisdictions to implementing technology that supports global workforces, the reception’s buzzing conversations spotlighted the growing importance—and challenges—of global payroll.
Attendees agreed that having a dedicated networking event like the Global Payroll Reception is essential to the global payroll industry.
“Staying up to date with the legislation in different countries and finding the right resources is so important, which is why events like this that emphasize knowledgeable in-house resources are essential,” said Barbara Youngman, CPP, payroll manager for Toyota Motor North America.
With the rise of remote work and global talent pools, global payroll has become a central concern for many organizations.
“In this increasingly global world, compliance is something we all must concern ourselves with," said Jason Low, who leads The Association for Payroll Specialists (TAPS) in Australia. "Attending these events is so important because networking with other professionals who are also working hard to follow international law is invaluable and lifts all our efforts."
As the global payroll landscape continues to evolve, events like the Global Reception become critical to creating bonds across borders, building community, and driving innovation that makes payroll strategically important for every organization.
“The most valuable tools we have in our toolbox are the connections we make through networking with our peers,” said Lisa Poole, CPP, vice president of payroll tax for Truist Bank. “We have to find the commonality between us, whether it’s jurisdiction, a tax, a country— this is the event to go to in order to connect with those people.”
