The American Payroll Association’s (APA) Government Partner Award recognizes government employees who work with the Association to help payroll professionals everywhere.

This year’s recipient, Charles Brady Jr. of the U.S. Census Bureau, understands the importance of payroll data and what it can explain about the U.S. economy.

Brady, Chief of the Customer and Respondent Outreach Branch of the Economic Planning and Coordination Division, received his award during Friday’s Federal Government Executive General Session.

“This is quite an honor and such a surprise,” Brady said. “Our partnership with APA started about 10 years ago when I attended my first Congress. Thank you to all the payroll professionals who respond to our surveys.”

Over those 10 years, he has worked to inform payroll professionals of their crucial role in the five-year economic census.

Brady encouraged attendees to stop by the U.S. Census Booth (#850) in the Expo.

Brady has appeared at APA’s Capital Summit many times, and this year he led an Annual Congress workshop on the economic census.
