Attendee Badges Get a Makeover
If you’re attending the 44th Annual Payroll Congress in Nashville, then you will notice an important update this year: redesigned attendee badges that support a smoother, more modern, and more sustainable onsite experience.
This year, Congress is transitioning from pre‑printed paper inserts in plastic badge holders to durable, recyclable poly badges.
“This update improves efficiency while reducing material use, advance printing waste, and reliance on disposable plastic holders,” said Marisa Huerta, Senior Manager of Customer Service and Chapter Relations at PayrollOrg.
Faster, Smoother Check‑In
The new badge system also simplifies check-in by printing badges directly onsite. This streamlined approach reduces steps at registration counters and helps lines move faster during peak arrival times.
“With a more direct, efficient process, attendees can get through check‑in quickly and begin their Congress experience with less waiting,” Huerta explained. “If an attendee’s information needs correction, badges can also be updated and reprinted onsite with minimal delay.”
Designed for Comfort, Durability
Printed directly onto recyclable poly material, the new badges eliminate the need for plastic holders. The result is a lighter, more flexible badge designed to last through the entire conference.
“The poly badges are tear‑resistant, moisture‑resistant, and printed with pigment‑based ink that resists smearing and fading,” Huerta said. “High‑contrast printing and improved spacing also make names and credentials easier to read throughout the event”
Simplified Daily Use
Dietary preferences selected during registration will appear on the back of badges, replacing separate meal tickets.
Drink tickets and the party wristband will be included in the conference bag, while door prize entries will be handled digitally via QR code.
Sustainable, Future‑Ready
By printing only what’s needed onsite and eliminating plastic holders, the new badges reduce waste and overall plastic use. Badges can be recycled after Congress, supporting PayrollOrg’s sustainability goals.
Looking Ahead
While the new badge itself is a significant step forward, it also helps lay the groundwork for future enhancements.
PayrollOrg will gather attendee feedback through the conference evaluations sent after Congress ends, helping inform future refinements.
