The Southern Nevada Chapter is excited to welcome the APA Payroll Congress back to Las Vegas! Please stop by the Chapter Hospitality Booth to say hello to our volunteers and to pick up some goodies, local information guides, and to enter your name for one of the daily prize giveaways. Las Vegas is our hometown and we look forward to sharing some of it with you.
The MGM Grand Hotel is located at 3799 S. Las Vegas Boulevard
Las Vegas, Nevada 89109 on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip. This part of the Strip is where you can see the world largest bronze lion, some sharks, and a medieval castle. While the lion habitat at MGM Grand has closed, you can see one with the largest bronze-statues in the U.S.- a 100,000-lbs bronze statue located at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue.
The MGM Grand location puts visitors close to great entertainment venues and exhibits. Excalibur is across the intersection and the Tournament of Kings offers a show experience with dinner, which many shows do not. The Australian Bee Gees Show, a tribute to one of the most loved and successful musical acts is also at the Excalibur.
The Blue Man Group is at the Luxor next door to Excalibur. It also showcases the wonder and tragedy of the world’s most famous ocean-liner, the Titanic, or visitors can get up-close and personal with the human body at Bodies...The Exhibition.
Another great stop is Mandalay Bay where you can see Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson One or visit the Shark Reef Aquarium with over 2,000 animals, including sharks, giant rays, a Komodo dragon, and endangered green sea turtles.
Las Vegas has an outstanding array of restaurants – casual and fine dining – at our host hotel, MGM Grand, and throughout the city. Several celebrity chefs have made our city home.
If you want to visit other spots on the Strip, the Las Vegas Monorail is one way to get around. The Monorail operates along a 3.9-mile route from the MGM Grand to the SAHARA Las Vegas. It is a good way to see some of the sights on the Strip with trains running approximately every 4-8 minutes.
