Statewide and Regional Meetings provide amazing opportunities for chapter members to connect to other chapters in their state, network with local payroll professionals, and attend top-notch payroll workshops. There is a lot of planning that goes into crafting a Statewide or Regional Meeting, but where should you start?
2016 Texas Payroll Conference was a delicious success as they followed these six steps.
Check out these six must-do things that will help your Statewide Committee achieve success when planning your event:
- First, check to see if your state is already hosting a Statewide or Regional Meeting by verifying on the Chapter Regional & Statewide Meetings page on the APA website.
- After you’ve confirmed an event is not already happening and you are ready to begin planning the Statewide event, refer to the ever-helpful Local Chapter Guide. Pages 16-20 contain valuable information, essential to the first steps of breathing life into your event.
- Login to the APA website to view the ‘APA Seminar Schedule’ to verify your dates do not conflict with an APA course happening in your area.
- To avoid conflicts between APA events and chapter activities, it’s of utmost importance to submit a proposed agenda of the Statewide or Regional Meeting by using the Statewide/Regional Meeting Registration Form at least 90 days in advance of the event.
- Statewide Conferences can receive RCH credits. To ensure your conference is eligible for certification credits, the host chapters must submit the RCH Request Form to the Certification Department at least 30 days before the event.
- The APA has top-notch speakers who provide amazing presentations that you can take advantage of. Hosting chapters can submit the Speaker Request Form to the Speaker Administration Department at least 90 days before the event to obtain a speaker.
