Never Run Short of Meeting Topics Again!

It doesn’t matter if your chapter is brand new or has years of experience-at some point you may find yourself scratching your head over a good chapter meeting topic. That is where the American Payroll Association can help. The list of “100 Popular APA Local Chapter Meeting Topics” is a goldmine of meeting ideas that have been pre-approved for RCH credits.

Our top five favorite topics from the guide are:

  1. Multi-State Taxation – This complicated subject affects many payroll professionals who work for companies that have employees in more than one state. This would be a great topic to expand on.
  2. Leadership Skills – Leading and managing a payroll team is a critical activity to any business. Use this topic to expand on the importance of being a leader in payroll, and inspire attendees to strive for their own leadership goals.
  3. Local Income Taxes – What is the local income tax in your area? If it has changed within the past few years this would be a perfect topic to cover with your chapter.
  4. Payroll Fraud- Payroll fraud affects a large number of businesses annually. Keep your members up-to-date with the latest info to prevent payroll fraud at their workplace.
  5. Legislative/Regulatory Updates- Politicians are constantly changing the policies of payroll, both at the federal and state levels. You will never be short of ideas with this topic!

Don’t be afraid to think outside the box with your meetings. These are only five ideas out of one hundred that will get your chapter members engaged and focused on payroll.  Let us know in the comments section below topics that your chapter has found successful during meetings.
