Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I was born and raised in New York and lived there until moving to Florida in 2000. I used to ride horses when I was young and have been married for over 33 years. I love to read, and the volunteer efforts I have done over the years for the APA has brought a great amount of satisfaction to me.
How long have you been involved with APA and local chapters?
I have been in payroll for almost 43 years and have been involved with the APA since 1996. I earned my CPP certification that same year. I have been volunteering on the Hotline committee since 1997, and over the years I’ve volunteered for many different subcommittees and national efforts. My exposure to local chapters has been limited until I was asked to become a member of the Board of Advisors.
What advice would you like to give to the chapters in your region?
I would recommend to the chapters in my region to make a considered effort to reach out to each other and to other chapters in other regions to learn what works well for their membership initiatives.
What APA resources would you recommend to the chapters in your region?
I would highly recommend using the Chapter Leaders Blog for information being provided by other chapter leaders and Chapter Relations. In addition, Liz Herrera and the chapter relations team do a phenomenal job of helping the chapters and providing information and guidance as needed. Just call or email them, the Chapter Relations team will help you out.
