On November 9-10, chapter leaders from across the country gathered for the Chapter Leadership Summit at MEET Las Vegas to sharpen their skills and strengthen their local payroll communities. Take a look below at some of the fun and inspiring memories from the event:
Joint PLC and CLS General Session
Starting off the Chapter Leadership Summit, and closing out the Payroll Leaders Conference, was a joint general session on “How to Manage Your Emotions” presented by Becky Harshberger, CPP. This was the first time that two APA conferences have overlapped and merged attendees. Both groups were able to enjoy an inspiring and insightful message that will take them to the next level in their leadership skills.
Networking Opportunities
The Chapter Leadership Summit featured two unique networking sessions. During the Friday Networking Reception, CLS attendees were given game cards with icebreaker questions to ask each other. This encouraged them to make new connections in a fun and easy way, and inspired a lot of laughter over the creative answers.
On Saturday, CLS attendees were assigned to networking roundtables with other chapter leaders who share similar chapter titles. Throughout lunch, they shared experiences, goals, and roadblocks faced in their role and discussed ideas and strategies of how to improve chapter operations. The showroom was filled with lively conversation as attendees discovered and developed valuable solutions to take back to their chapters.
Educational Sessions
CLS provided valuable training through three general sessions and six workshops. Attendees learned about financial responsibility, chapter operations, organizing events and study groups, chapter social media, working with sponsors, and more! All APA-affiliated chapters are also invited to download and share the “Communicating Effectively and Confidently” presentation with their members for 1.5 RCHs.
ADP Closing Cocktail Reception
The event ended on a high note with a cocktail reception hosted by CLS sponsor, Wisely by ADP. Attendees were treated to food, drinks, live music and over 50 chapter giveaways! Thank you ADP for sponsoring this year’s event!
