National Payroll Week® (NPW) had everyone in the payroll profession celebrating their careers, but we took it to the next level. If you were awake at 4:30 am on Friday, September 8th, you would have seen sixty Dallas Chapter officers and members on live television dancing and having fun on the final day of NPW 2017.
The Dallas Chapter was so excited to be invited to celebrate National Payroll Week on the WFAA Channel 8’s Daybreak morning news show where we were featured at ‘Party on the Plaza’. There, we were able to share facts on how payroll professionals collect trillions of dollars for the United States Treasury each year through payroll tax deductions with all of Channel 8’s viewers.

Additionally, thirty students from W.T. White High School in Dallas participated in this year’s Money Matters National Education Day and also helped us add to the early morning fun. They were interviewed on how the Money Matters curriculum helped them understand the forms from a new employer and how to interpret their first paycheck. We explained our hope to not only help students understand their paychecks but to inspire them to pursue careers as payroll professionals!

Our wonderful friends at ADP® sponsored the event by providing NPW t-shirts and a team of executives to join the Party on the Plaza. Thank you ADP for your support and generous sponsorship. The Dallas Chapter had an amazing time celebrating National Payroll Week and cannot wait to see what next year brings.
