National Payroll Week® (NPW), September 4-8, is the best week of the year for payroll professionals. Local chapters have been vital to the continued growth and success of NPW since it first launched in 1996. The annual event celebrates workers across America who receive a paycheck and the hardworking payroll professionals who pay them accurately and on time.
Need inspiration for ways your chapter can get involved with NPW activities this year? Check out these five simple ways to join the NPW celebration:
- Win Big With Contests: The APA offers fantastic prizes, like free education and conference registrations, to chapters that go above and beyond with their NPW activities. Enter one of the eight NPW contests categories today and earn bragging rights (and a prize or two) for spreading the NPW message.
- Spread Financial Literacy in Your Community: You and your chapter have the opportunity to teach area teens important paycheck basics when you sign up to be a Money Matters National Education Day (MMNED) volunteer You can teach at any point between now and September 30 to your area high schools, after- school groups, youth organizations, church groups, and more! Volunteers will earn 1 RCH for teaching a lesson.
- Give a Token of Appreciation: Show members of your chapter how much you appreciate them by gifting them with payroll themed goodies from the NPW Store. Fun Fact: Every purchase your chapter makes earns you points in the NPW Chapter Promotion Contest.
- Share the NPW Survey: The annual NPW “Getting Paid In America” survey is a cornerstone of the NPW campaign. Have your chapter members complete the survey and find creative ways to spread the word about the survey. Encourage your coworkers, family, and community to take the survey and then document your awesome efforts by entering the Online Survey Promotion contest.
- Team Up With a Sponsor: Reach out for support for your NPW plans from other companies and organizations in your community. Sponsorship is a fantastic way to kick your NPW into overdrive. Sponsors can provide extra assistance to your chapter’s NPW parties by providing speakers, door prizes, special coverage of the event, and much more.
