Local chapters have been vital to the continued growth and success of the annual event since it was first launched by the [American Payroll Association](https://www.americanpayroll.org/) in 1996. If your chapter isn’t actively involved with NPW, even if it’s just on a small level, it’s missing out big time! There are more reasons than we can count why your chapter should celebrate and be involved with NPW but we’ll give you our top three: **1. Win Big with NPW Chapter Contests![NPW19_Logo](https://blogs.payroll.org/hs-fs/hubfs/NPW19_Logo.jpg?width=341&name=NPW19_Logo.jpg)** The APA offers [eight NPW contest categories](https://www.nationalpayrollweek.com/chapter-contests/) that are open to local chapters and individuals to compete in and show off your NPW activities, both big and small. If your chapter wins, it will mean bragging rights and awesome prizes your members can utilize, like complimentary registrations to Annual Congress. Encourage chapter members to go out in the community individually or as a group to teach important paycheck basics to teens and young adults on September 5 and throughout 2019.
