Chapter Photo Contest
For this contest, chapters were asked to capture the excitement and spirit of NPW in a creative group photo, screenshot, or collage featuring the NPW artwork and smiling chapter members. The Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky Chapter won first place with their displayed chapter banner, NPW signs and balloons, and scenic background of a bridge connecting Ohio and Kentucky. The chapter members wore masks and practiced social distancing while taking this photo.

Online Survey Promotion Contest
The Online Survey Promotion Contest rewards those who go above and beyond to promote APA’s “Getting Paid In America” survey, which provides important data on payroll trends. The 2020 first place winner, the Greater Milwaukee Chapter, shared the survey information through emails and yard signs placed at a local Scarecrow Fest.

Chapter Promotion Contest
NPW merchandise makes promoting payroll fun! The Northern Lights Chapter won the Chapter Promotion Contest by collectively purchasing over $520 worth of items. All proceeds go toward promoting the payroll industry.

Educational Outreach and Community Services
The Educational Outreach and Community Services contest recognizes chapters who volunteer their time and efforts to give back to the community. The first place winner, Atlanta Chapter, participated in Money Matters National Education Day by presenting two virtual lesson on paycheck basics and organizing a card-writing campaign for local nursing homes.

Local Government Outreach
Every year, APA chapters support NPW by requesting proclamations from their local government officials. In 2020, the Chicago Chapter received a total of 30 proclamations, earning significant government recognition for the payroll profession as well as first place in the Local Government Outreach contest.

Local Media Outreach
APA and its chapters use local media outlets to promote NPW and paycheck resources to the community. The Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky Chapter won first place by broadcasting thirty-six radio commercials about National Payroll Week.

Individual Activity Contest
Payroll professionals can also make an impact by promoting and celebrating National Payroll Week at their workplace. The 2020 winner, David Scorza, CPP, celebrated at ADP through social media and email campaigns, NPW flag photos, sweet treats, posters, interactive payroll games, and more.

NPW National Education Champions
On Money Matters National Education Day, volunteers across the country taught paycheck basics to students preparing to enter the workforce. Tied for the most volunteers, both Region 2 (Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) and Region 4 (New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Texas) have been crowned the NPW National Education Champions, a first in NPW Contest history.
