APA local chapters go the extra mile to show their NPW spirit. Chapters promote the importance of payroll and community by organizing events to teach paycheck basics to young adults during Money Matters National Education Day, donate items to local charities, and educate their communities on the impact of the payroll withholding system. Online Survey Promotion Contest
The Online Survey Promotion Contest is designed to support engagement with the “Getting Paid In America” survey. The following winners went above and beyond in their efforts to promote the survey:
First Place – Tallahassee Chapter
Second Place – Greater Milwaukee Chapter
Third Place – Greater Nashville Chapter
The First Place winner, the Tallahassee Chapter, promoted the NPW survey via multiple social media platforms, the chapter website, Tallahassee City Hall, and held an NPW event providing food and entertainment. The chapter quickly created a successful NPW game plan having been recently established as an affiliated chapter in June 2017.

Local Media Outreach Chapter Contest
Every year, chapter members work tirelessly to spread the message of NPW by reaching out to their local radio stations, newspapers, and other media outlets. Congratulations to the following chapters who helped put NPW in the headlines:

The Dallas Chapter, utilized WFAA Channel 8’s Daybreak Morning News to promote NPW and celebrate Money Matters with students from W.T. High School.. The chapter promoted this event via social media by creating an event on Facebook and sending out an announcement in their monthly newsletter.

Educational Outreach and Community Service Chapter Contest
Every year, local chapters use NPW as an opportunity to give back to the community and educate the leaders of tomorrow on the payroll withholding system. Congratulations to the following chapters who did an outstanding job of organizing educational and community service events in the spirit of NPW:

The Atlanta Chapter had many educational and community events such as writing letters to thank soldiers that were deployed out of the country over the holidays. Additionally, members collected donations for Daffy’s Pet Soup Kitchen, the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree, for the City of Refuge, and for APA Texas chapters impacted by Hurricane Harvey. These are a just a few of the many projects the Atlanta Chapter worked on to give back to their community.

Local Government Outreach Chapter Contest
Proclamations from state and local governments are one of the most impressive achievements for a chapter and payroll professionals. Obtaining a proclamation takes preparation, dedication, and patience. Congratulations to the following chapters on their great work:

NPW National Education Champions
The National Education Champions contest category recognizes the region that had the most chapter members participate in the Money Matters National Education Day program. For 2017, bragging rights go to the Region 7 Chapters located in Washington D.C., Kentucky, Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
